It looks like they are trying to make progress towards reopening the old Haile gold mine near Kershaw SC, I recently heard a news story about it and here is a link I just found searching online - www.hailegoldmineeis.com/

I don't think they will get all they want because of all the streams they are going to eliminate that go thru other peoples property and the water table down stream being lowered.Charlotte used to have 100's of gold mines which are now under the city.....Haile was the largest producing gold mine in SC.....Dorn mine in McCormick,SC. the 2nd.
