Nichwhitt, you have got to pack a flat rate box and put it on the "for sale" board. I've got a hankering to see some of those rocks in person, to find out if they are that neat, or if you have a magical camera.

LOL rockshine...I use the Nikon Magicam S8200, I thought everyone did! I'll try to get something together and post it on the for sale board. Some rocks seem to be rare here, and others I have an "attachment to, but the speckled Jasper from previous posts and the nodules above seem to be in abundance. I have yet to try out the diamond cut off wheel, but once I open some up, I should be able to part with some halves. leonardo It is because I am the One

Guessing that this is a nodular form of Celestite. Just a guess. The blue area should be less hard than quartz.
I know you will have to try and see for yourself, but the cut-off disc on a dremel is a really bad and potentially dangerous idea for a way to half or slab these rocks. Those discs commonly split and shatter and at high speed a fragment could put your eye out. Not to mention you will need the snake extension attachment to the dremel so that you could use it in water safely. A $75.00 tile saw from Lowes or Home Depot or Harbor Freight would be a much better and safer idea. Either way, wear saftey glasses!

Blue Anhydrite aka Angelite? Looks very similar, but mine seems more granular and not as quartzite looking.... Looked at the other half and it is indeed angelite, a variety of celestine

Good stuff, nichwhitt. It can get pretty complicated when you get down in the short rows. Have a good weekend!

Duly noted on the diamond bit, arappho...between the cost of the bit and the stem and guard, a tile saw would pretty much pay for itself. I would probably shatter the thing on the first try, heh.
