This was in a rock collection I inherited. It originally came from out west somewhere. The original collector lived in Wyoming. The collection contains a LOT of petrified wood and obsidian. This stuff was in a place of prominence with other nice rocks. I have 3 pieces and all are larger than a softball. (This is all I know)

Seem like something that might of came out of a glass factory. Back in the 70's and 80's you use to see massive rock shape glass for sell in some of the rock shops.
When I took a tour of the fenton glass factory they mention that the leftover fancy glass that was not used would be poured out in globs and sold as decorative pieces.

I got to agree with the previous its glass slagg I have seen some like that around obsidian does not look close to that at least from the west of the stuff I have and seen from Davis creek glass buttes etc closest would be velvet from Mexico but still no go. Looks very very pretty tho nice find as that stuff is very pricey now days.
