phrankie, I would love to see those photos but I will not open any file from Imageshack as it is often filled with virus. Can you repost from some other source? Thanks. Rockshine

Where did you find this? Are there any cows nearby? Seriously, looks like a compacted sedimentary layer of stuff. What all it is composed of would depend on where you found it. I would probably lump it in the Sandstone category. Joe

Hi Phrankie, I think I might have an Idea what this might be but I have a couple questions. How old is the house where you found these? How deep where they?
Thanks, Craig

the house in the vicinity is anywhere from 70-85 years old. found this about 7 inches down with a whites detector. i also notice some organic material embedded onto the top of a few of the stones
just to add, the rocks were not near the home, this is a rough guess, it was a few years back, but probably a good 100ft from the house, idk if a house was in the spot and was tore down, just not sure,,i thought it was a meteorite but i dont think it is
sorry for spelling, using an old laptop with bad keeys., my desktop is currently in about 30 pieces lol

Phrankie, just a tip. When taking photos to post on website, set camera at lowest pixel setting. The mega pixels are only needed if you are making an enlargement. If you don't mind mentioning the general area or state where these were found, it could help in identity, as some areas had small iron/copper mines/lead mines, some farms had blacksmith shops, and even the shade tree mechanics poured babbitt bearings. Here in SE Tennessee, there are several occurrences of rusty red and brown iron ore, some fossiliferous, and iron bearing sandstones.

I see what your saying Phrankie about it being a possible Meteorite, it does look like it has Chondrules. I also Metal Detect and was wondering. When you got the signal, was it a strong signal and where did it register on your display? Did it register as Iron or was it a "good signal"? Also Have you put a magnet on it?
