you definitely have some nice aqua in there - that one potential ammey has a nice blue-ish hue. I suspect the black cab could be horneblende (gives a good sheen when polished). Some of those light green are probably peridot. need to do scratch and hardness tests to get some better ideas. That was an incredible find - a small piece of facet grade aqua with nice color could be worth $35 on up.
to heck with digging in the heat and fighting bugs and poison oak - time to hit some yard sales!

Thanks guys, you have been very helpful! I agree with andy on the garnet, definitely has the right color for that, now that I am looking at it again!

Nice score ^5 #3,4 mexican opal with matrix #5,6,7 =? #8,9.10.... garnet #11=? 12,13,14 amethyst 18=? 19...topaz 20,21 peridot either tumbled or alluvial gravel, 22 amethyst followed by an Aqua crystal and possibly a sunset tourmaline chip (is it dark when viewed from the edge?) another aqua piece and lastly topaz. Small aluvial stones can also be fancy saphires or spinel as well...hardness test will help you there. have fun!

WOW What a score! I bet since that looks to be a old collection, good chance that aqua is untreated and natural, you did very well!

Donnie....looking further I agree with HeadierRocks and ryjen.....#15,16,17 appear to be sunstone with copper shiller in it. Also on rechecking the sizes I believe I would suspect #23 to be either a fancy colored saphire or spinel....this due to looking like alluvial stones I used to buy from New Era Gems. Good Luck
