Hello everyone... I'm new to the forum. I had a request from someone in my introduction thread to post some pics of TQ points. Here is a pic of some of my finds from the year so far. You can see how different the colors of TQ can be. We see a lot of the white TQ, sometimes it has "snowflakes", sometimes it varies in color from blue to brown and even black. I have seen points where the TQ is black with white snow flakes. I need to find me one of those! Here is a few TQ points: Attachments:

Nice start to the year, Mike. Thanks for the pics. Looks like mostly mid to late Archaic points. The forms are very similar to those here in NC and other areas of the Southeast. I wonder if the names for the types are the same? For instance, do use the name Savannah River in your neck of the woods? I know the Talahatta is tough stuff to work, but it looks even tougher than that. Joe

Nice Points Mike! I have nothing but respect for anyone who had the skill to work quartzite well enough to make effective tools/weapons from it. Truly a tough way to make a living! Best Regards, Larry C.

We do have Savanah River points here although the most common point type we see is Pickwick. We see some cross over of the Florida point types. We don't find very many paleo types around here. I have been hunting regularly for about 12 years and I have found 3 Daltons. I probably have 800 to 1000 points in my collection.
Thanks for the welcome!
Mike
