Just found this board while looking up some info on a bicolor amethyst I used in a new ring yesterday. It is cut round, with a 50/50 split of light blue-violet and magenta, and is of Burmese origin. looks bluish purple (siberian) in the daylight, but just saw it under a 40w incandescent & moonlight and it glowed a deeply saturated hot-pink. has a veil inclusion at 45 degree angle right through the middle which gives the gem a prehnite-like milkyness when viewed directly. I love it, and would love to keep it forever, but as a creator must always keep the collection rotating to make room for new pieces.
When I found this forum, I forgot about that business and immediately registered, poking around a bit. I like what I see.

Some of the best stones from around our world and beyond have found a pleasant foster home in my care. Rocks have been here long before us, and will be here long after we depart; my job is to rescue bright crystals orphaned from their parent-matrix and keep them safe until I can find them a permanent home nestled comfortably in wires of silver and golden metal. From there they may find a new person to take in and be with, giving them the attention they deserve, a most beneficial relationship.
A multi-faceted existence we shall enjoy.
Some of you here may know me. Already I am now fostering stones with histories current members have shared. Pleased to make your acquantance, familiarity shall ensue.
