Last weekend I had a free Saturday to do anything. I decided to try exploring ground that didn't have any mines nearby or info written about it. In the past I've spent a whole day exploring with out finding a thing, but that's just part of it. With gas prices so high I stayed close to home in Transylvania county. I really wanted to go to the Ray mine or somewhere on the Gal. So I left early in the morning to find cool temps. and beautiful sunny skies. There were 4 areas I wanted to look over and of course the terrain was real steep. After about 4-5 hours of finding absolutely nothing I almost called it a day. I decided to explore the final spot i had picked out and was surprised to find milky quartz laying around everywhere. I was searching for quartz crystals, but I mostly found Limonite pseudomorphs instead. By the time I actually started finding keepers it was getting close to 4pm. That was my turn around time. So I didn't really get to search the area very well, at least next time I can go straight there. Small quartz crystals, pseudo at bottom Largest pseudo, two crystals Largest pseudo, two crystals cleaned up quartz best pseudos cleaned matrix piece

Is that a wheatback psuedo penny, before it morphed into a practically worthless copperclad zinc slug? Nice finds. With all those goodies, therre's bound to be more. Keep a diggin
