I decided to take advantage of the break in the weather and check out the Ray this past Sunday. It was a beautiful day but cold...around 20 degrees when I first arrived. The spoil piles were frozen solid and it took nearly an hour to get through the frozen stuff so I could start my searching. It was great to be able to get out after all of the bad weather. Just a word to anyone who is planning a trip up there. When they plowed the road they pushed the snow right up to the entrance to the forest service parking area and it created a dirt and gravel hump that cars and regular pick-up trucks will not clear...I know by the scraping sound that my truck did not have quite enough clearance. I managed to shovel a couple of inches of the frozen dirt and gravel off the top to allow me a way out without scraping the bottom of the truck again. Here are a few pics of my finds from Sunday.

Nice stuff. Very brave. I used to do that years ago too. Now it's a 45 degree rule! I think, Ryan, that around the middle of Feb. around here, it's going to get that warm, so we can go to The Tree then! T.

Rick informed me that my photos were infected with a virus. I apologize if anyone's computer was infected with a virus. I used image shack to upload my pics this time so this could be the problem.
