Pretty Savannah, Rick. Nice Find! I know you know your chert, but it is strange to see a piece so evenly and thoroughly stained like that. From the pic I'd guess it was quartzite mainly because of the color. Like to see it sometime. Glad you had a nice little get-away trip. Retirement's looking pretty rough. Joe

Hey Joe, here's a link to some info (blog) about a point found in the area a little over a year ago - point and material it is made of is the same. Retirement has been a little rough on me as bending down and picking up fossils is bad on the back. Leonard, Charlene and I will be going down there again for the first week of march and also the last week of march. I'll get in touch with you before we go so we can meet up.
