It's not a great stone, but I wanted to show folks a faceted stone from North Carolina that you don't see too often.

Heading out to the shed to get my box of also stuff and start rummaging for kyanite. A bit of trivia: some of the older texts refer to it as cyanite, after the color cyan blue.

Rebecca, Have you done anything with the stone yet? None of the others were worth faceting, but I still may work some into some intarsia. Thanks, Mickey

No Mickey, "my precious" stays in a box. Honestly, I am afraid it would be too delicate of a stone to put in a setting for myself - maybe a pendant for a necklace would be safe. I am clumsy and rough on jewelry. I love it and look at it often and am very much appreciative of it, though.

What??!! You have that stone and haven't yet showed it to us/me?? You might consider a trilliant bezel setting like the one Ron Koenig did for my sunstone. with a secondary round stone to offset it. I love my setting! (you reading this, Ron?) b
