I just wanted to introduce myself and say great site. I'm a 60 yr. old rockhound from NW Connecticut who has been field collecting for many years in just a few local spots. I've recently joined a club to meet some like minded folks, educate myself alittle better, and go on some field trips. I'm a rockblaster who finds himself unemployed at the moment with a new digital camera and too much time on his hands so I've been field collecting and taking quite a few photos. I enjoy seeing what other people collect, sharing my modest finds and hammering rock and dulling chisels. Attachments:

I was born in Milford CT. Great to have you on the board. Definitely post some pics of those CT finds. I'm here in NJ as well. Greg and I meet up once in a while. If you ever feel like collecting down this way give us a holler. We can meet up and show you a spot or two down here. Maybe even come up your way.
Sorry to hear you are UE. I was there myself for well over a year. Just started a new job. Hang in there it will work out. What did you do for a living?
Pete

Sometimes when I'm mining minerals with hand tools I wish I could drill a couple of holes and blast instead. This photo was a real tight job I did. Pete Attachments:

That must really suck ... having that knowledge and just KNOWING how easy it is to blast everything apart and then there you are with a chisel in hand ... I can think of a few spots I would love to blast ...I bet you could offer us some really nice tips though about moving/breaking some real heavy rock .... Ct isnt very far ... I was looking into white mountain forest in NH ... Anywhere near you ?
