Hey Roughneck95, I live over here in Fernley (Reno area) NV. There are a ton of great spots around here and from what I here around the North East as well. Where exactly are you located over there? I can tell you first off if you haven't already, you should pick up one of the rockhounding Nevada books. They aren't going to get you into the best spots sometimes as they have been published since the 90s and early 2000s but they do give a pretty good Idea of what minerals can be found in different regions. I have the book titled "Gem Trails of Nevada" and I have had some luck with it. Im pretty sure you can find everything from agate/jasper, Petrified wood, garnets, and even turquoise in your area. Let me know if you are ever planning a trip to the west of the state anywhere near Reno or Tahoe, I go hounding all over this side and have found all sorts of nice specimens. Quartz crystals, Rose quartz, chrysacolla, Malachite, Pyrite, Black Tourmaline, and tons of chalcedony/Jasper/Agates. Have fun out there, there is a ton to be found.

Hello Gaetama50, Thanks you for the peply. I live in Elko Nevada. I work at the Cortez gold mine in Lander county. I have the book that you mention. I have been in to rocks my whole life. I have have several other books on different areas in Nevada. I also know that there are other areas that are not as well knowen but are very great places to look. My Wife and me went out a few weeks back and found a few places to find fossils over by Montello. Over the years i have been in the drilling business i have had the pleasure of going alover the state and seeing a lot of different places. The places we over by Montello were listed in the book Gem Trails of Nevada.
