Hello --- I just joined the club and am also new to the rock hound hobby, so need some guidance.
Just wondering if any of you are from Texas and have you visited The Woodward Ranch in Alpine, Texas? If so, was it worth the trip?

Welcome to the site ammygirl. You picked a good site to be a part of. I also am a texan. I grew up down in the Freeport area on the coast. Woodward ranch is a well known hounding place. T heres some killer plume agate that comes from there. I have never been there myself but I have friends that have. I'm purty sure that some of the members here have too. I like your screen name .We have an amethystguy that's a member here.

Hello neighbor, didn't think there would be any Texans on this site, but glad you responded.
Have you had any luck with any sites in Texas?
As you know Texas heat is unbearable and not to mention the rattlesnakes and red racers which come out in the summer, so going to wait until Oct. or Nov. to visit Woodward Ranch.
However, just wanted to see if any one on this board knew of any good Texas Rivers that might have some good rock collections?
