I've been chasing "Fire" thru a bunch of obsidian lately, without much luck finding any of what I was looking for, but this was a nice piece of what I call Mahogany Lace. This stuff is hard to photograph without all the right lights and I'm a Practicing Primitive Photographer so..................hope you can get an idea of what they look like. Thanks for looking, Joe

Hey Joe those are really nice looking cabs, you made some very interesting shapes .... WOW well done! What polish do you use to get that fantastic shine?

Thanks Di66er, Hope all is well in the Land of the Lakes. Isn't that big Superior Agate convention going on soon? Obsidian can be tricky to polish. Some types will be no problem, and then on another type the little scratches will drive you crazy. I have a routine I pretty much go thru with obsidian where I will work the cab up thru 1200 grit the first time, inspect it, and then go back to 600 grit and work it up again. I like the surface that puts on it. I'm still only polishing with diamond, (and would still like to be trying other methods, , but on these I went from the 1200 to 8000 polish and then straight to 50,000, done. Obsidian is a really versatile material and I'm enjoying exploring some of it's possibilities. Joe
