Being that the basics of rock hounding is our curiosity of geology pure and simple. I was wondering if anyone has heard this theory? We all know of the theory of subduction and that the earth mass was a giant continent island on the earth called Pangea. And the rocks and minerals we collect here on the east coast were formed when Africa was bumping up against the east coast? But this theory has some problems. Like how is it that the old ocean fossils are found in places like Utah and the high plains? I think this theory is pretty convincing that we should rethink the Pangea thing. See what happens when you start asking questions about the oldest river in the world? LOL Here is the Geologists version... www.earth-prints.org/bitstream/2122/4364/1/07scalera.pdf Here are 2 simple explanations with animation. www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJfBSc6e7QQ&feature=fvwwww.youtube.com/watch?v=7kL7qDeI05U And here is a 14 part presentation by Dr. James Maxlo..Dry but pretty darn interesting... www.youtube.com/watch?v=_f6hcGJbjL0&feature=related
