Hi there I am a new rock hound from New Zealand. Interests include self collecting, tumbling as well as micro minerals. I have some lapidary equipment - Slab saw, trim saw with grinding equipment, and a 20" vibralap. My question is this: It seems that one of my vibralap pan has a small dish in it. How can I correct this - the pan is heavy cast iron - or do I have to purchase a new pan?? Thanks in advance Graham

Hi Graham, glad you found us! I wish I could help with the pan, but I have no idea. If it was aluminum I would say try to support it then beat it out, but that cast iron will just crack. I would think the only thing to do is just wait for the rest of the pan to wear to the depth of the dish? It might be possible to use some type filler metal like silver solder to even it out but it will have different matrix characteristic to hold abrasive then.
