I, after years of procrastinating, decided to try a facet on my "wheeled" flex cab unit. This is a piece of Star Rose Quartz, 33.1c and 20mm round. Yes it is big! LOL Now I see the rave about faceting...but...doing that on a flexwheel is challenging. Forgive my photography, not so good trying to capture the fine lines and such on it. It is not done. I still have to place some cuts on the pavillion. Anyone think its worth getting appraised for an amateur job with crooked lines.....LOL

Been hiding under the oddest rock on the planet...uhhh....strange its shaped like a roof....LMAO and, I just finished the facet. Put some opposing triange shapes on the top outer ring. End weight 30.9ct. I may try again. It is just super tricky with a flexwheel. I can not get the super fine detail, angles or straight lines. Can forget about doing something small.

yeah but you can say they are OMF right! Big $$$, lol... I cut faceted stuff on my genie, it is fun. I haven't mde anything cool yet, but it is fun. I find it interesting that some of the best work is by hand, check out Bernd Munsteiner's (sp) work, he is a well known German faceter, probably does the best work ever. It is really hard to keep the meet points "perfect" through all the stages so I just use 2 or 3 stages, it seems to help. Thanks for posting this!
