Thought that I'd throw up a couple photos of my latest stone. This cut was designed by Gerald Hand, a late member of the Jacksonville Gem and Mineral Society. It is cut in a rutilated, pale smoky quartz. (14 X 17mm) Only the cross facets are polished on the pavilion.

Finished the project. What appear to be scratches are rutile hairs in the smoky quartz.

Thanks for all the compliments. I'm trying to figure out what kind of project that I want to do next. If you got any ideas, throw them this way. Rebecca, I know you can come up with an idea or two. Sincerely, "Lapidary Block" Mickey

George, Thanks for the suggestions. I found all the designs except for Don Clark's butterfly, so I didn't get a good look at that cut. Of the other three, I think that I liked the Cheshire the best.
