Ken, It is all the camera. I shoot these all handheld with just two of my incadescent shoplights shining on the knives. I use the super macro and anti "jitter" settings on a FujiFilm FinePix S8000fd.
Polish flint on the bottom and petrified wood at the back usually as they are fairly neutral. I use a stone with more white as the background if the camera won't get the colors right with these stones. It has problems with greens at times. For some reason it hates grossier garnet....

All in the camera. That must be my problem. I have a cheap digital with 10 megpixel and super macro, but still can't get it right. Bought one of those tents with the tripod and the lights, to no avail. Makes it worse. It's probably the operator. ;D ;D ;D Ken

No they were a custom job on the owner's knives. He shipped them to me for the work. This was a really expensive set as the stone slab alone was $85.00 and I think the two knives sold for around $200.00 so they are a really expensive set now!
