Here's a photo of an artifact I found in South Carolina that I need to identify. It has some sort of strange artwork on it. It's not actually a carving, but an image can be clearly seen on one side. I've been told that it may represent a "love god" who Native American women used to worship. I've heard stories about a mysterious stranger who used to enter western camps at night, slip into some of the ladies' teepees, and when they would wake up in the morning, all of their rocks would be gone. There is even a rumor that there is a remote tribe in the southwest where many of the children still look like this man. But, I can't find a name to put with the face. Anybody have any ideas?

hahhhaaaa! now that i think about it, i did give john one of my big ammy's for his birthday. so it must be a cupid's arrowhead. cupid actually uses paleolithic hunting skills- i always suspected he uses a club too. cupid doesn't have wings, but his horse does. did i mess up everybody's folklore enough?

Steve, I don't know how you got hold of my "point", when I went to school in SD I used to date a Miss American Indian for several years until her father (he was a Sioux chief) shot that at me. (thank god they drink a lot out there) and he missed. But it ruined my last year out there, I couldn't go out in the badlands and look for fairburn agates without having to look over my shoulder watching out for him. I don't know which is older, me or the point??

Mr. Denny,Mr. Denny,Mr. Denny oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive. You know everything you just said is not true.Steve that is a reflective piece of material you are holding ,That is John Dennys reflection in the point. As soon as you put it down he put it in his pocket and walked away. And I bet the next girl that walked by saw it in his pocket and asked him if that was a point in his pocket or just glad to see her.NOW YOU ALL SEE HOW HE OPERATES .

;D The virility and supreme spirit of this apparition is readily apparent and it is obviously, now, a potently possessed relic. Now I know where the characterization for the denomination " Love God " comes from. Joe

Mr. Romareā¦.you are right! When I cleaned off the other side of that darned arrowhead, there was another faint image on it. I talked to an artifact expert, and he explained that although some people might call one side the head and one side the tail, he thought the one pictured on the right looked more like what Native Americans would refer to as a "butt". Apparently, the function of this arrowhead was kind of like a coin the women would flip. If the image on the left came up, they knew that a great romance was about to enter their life. If the image on the right came up, it was probably best that they just commit suicide and get it over with!

Now the image on the right can be seen very clear. It is the object that PreparationH was invented for . A real pain in the A_ _! I believe the natves called it "Sbarroids"

Now I know why they call them arrow"heads". Actually I understand that this type of point was used by novices and hunters who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. When they missed their target, the prey would see the horrible images and keel over in fright!
