Rough Rider Lady Leg with sowbelly agate from the Crede mine, Co. Stamped 440 steel razor sharp on blade. Wish I could take better pictures. Looks like it has nylon mesh stockings on it. Heel is a bottle opener.

Better only if used for a beer bottle..... ;D ;D ;D Thanks, Daniel I guess that's why I make beer, so I have bottles to open! If only we had a stylish bottle opener... ;D

It seems that the sowbelly leg is a great reminder that the silver and gold mines out here were vertical veins and the hard-rock drillers would stand on a plank in a vertical tunnel 200 to 1700 ft down, over the previously blasted and removed ores and tons of sowbelly, and drill upward-- many fell or were crushed when the ceiling fell on them thusly the dilling operation and drill were known as widow makers . So you have done the ladies a complement and the pattern stocking effect ain't bad either. Heres to opening a few with that wonderful knife! ;D Dicky

I've heard that before but didn't understand the meaning. I knew them as "vertical stopes" not as cool a term, lol. When I was in the Bessie G there were stopes up to 200 feet tall, the "rooms" were 6 to 15 feet wide, 100-200 foot deep and 100-200 feet tall, not what I expected. Drill into the tunnel ceiling, blast, take away 1/2 the rock, then drill again while standing on the new pile and repeat. Sounds like fun! ;D
