I have had this forever my father found this a long time ago im not sure where, the small stone is perfectly round and moves freely within the bigger rock but will not come out, my son says it is a mouse for a caveman computer any thoughts

Well, It is interesting. I like it, but can't tell you what it is. If it's not a mouse for a cavemans' computer, then I'd have to guess it's a fossil. If it's an artifact, it was a fossil first and was probably picked up and kept as a novelty just as your father did. A couple more pics of it would help. A good pic of the hole and the stone inside. And you might want to try and post this in the fossil section. I don't know if those fossil heads look down here in this section much? The other pic you posted,"need help", is the same deal. I would guess that it is a 'geofact' or 'rock', but can't say anything for sure from the pic. Joe

It looks like it could be used as a grinder. You could dump some seeds or peppercorn in there and shake it around and the rock would smash it up. Very similar to a mortar and pestle. Then you could just shake the powder on your food or medicine etc. Whatever it is it's an interesting find.
