large spear head and stone axe

A friend inherited a few intriguing artifacts that I thought others would enjoy seeing. Perhaps you've seen something documented of a similar design? What caught my attention was the large spear point and the darker and larger axe head. I'm surprised by the axe head's careful carving and stylized geometry. It reminds me a bit more of Meso-American work than recent N.American artifacts. The spear head was found in N.Dakota in the 1920s, and the mace head is was found in North Central Kansas.

I think that big spear point would've caught my eye, too.
Can't say anything about it but would like to know more.
I guess ND would be a good place to start.
Nice axe heads and they show ALOT of wear. And what is that
little black conical object in the top left of your last pic? Is that
ground stone or horn? And it has that incised line around the
pointed end.

The conical object caught my eye too, but I did not ask about it.
The darker stone axe looks to me very deliberately made, where craftsmanship is beyond simple functionality of many tools I've seen. I'll need to dig through my books and hopefully get some insight there.
