I found this when I was in college on a Fieldtrip for the 1994 New York State Geological Association Symposium in Rochester. As I remember I stepped off the bus to see this little guy pedastaled and ready for the fortunate rockhound to snag . I have been told that it is anything from a beaver tooth to a horse tooth. My guess would be a grazing animal the size of a horse or cow. Definitely not a beaver though.

Well John, with all of the great fossils you are posting on this board, you really are doing yourself justice to use the name of fssldggr !! Thanks again for the great pictures of the spectacular specimens - Keep it up.
