While doing some scouting trying to find some good Kentucky geode collecting spots for a possible future MAGMA trip I found an area with calcite and gypsum vugs and geodes which are fluorescent and phosphorescent. These particular specimens aren't awe inspiring crystal specimens but the phosphorescence makes them kind of interesting. The phosphorescence effect lasts for a few seconds after the uv light is switched off. Some other specimens were better crystallized. users.mikrotec.com/sbonney/wwwpages/BRLake Geode1.jpg[/img] users.mikrotec.com/sbonney/wwwpages/BRLake Geode1uv.jpg[/img] Shortwave uv (actual fluorescence whiter than photo suggests Steve
