Yea that pic did turn out too big.I am no good at that kind of thing. The geode was given to me by a friend.We both do renovation type work on old houses. The geode was laying in the yard of one of the houses he was working on.It came to me as you see it.Of coarse its been cleaned. It was full of dirt and bugs when I got it.

Yea, sorry bout the oversized pic.I'm no good at that kind of thing. No I got the geode just as you see it except that I cleaned it up.It is aparent that it was opened with a hammer.As you can see its full of cracks.In my opinion the only way to open a geode is with a saw.Done that way you will have two beautiful pieces that can be polished or one big piece that can be sliced into a whole bunch of killer slabs.A hammer is one thing that I would never use.
