Not to mention that clear cutting also increases the odds for tornadic activity. Amelia county has had its share of tornadoes in recent years. The Forestry Division has trees that they allow volunteers to plant. Thanks for the article.

He He he !!! I love tornados! I went through about 50 kites in Isabel when it blew through... I have not been the same since! There's just something funny about seeing a kite fold itself down to about two inches wide and then promptly shred to two sticks and a tattered bit of plastic. Even funnier when you have about 4 beers in you. ;D Hurricane party anyone?

Really Isabel took down a lot of trees, I suppose that the storm chasers find them fascinating and that makes for an very unique career. Actually I have seen about four tornadoes myself, one struck Colonial Heights and killed several workers at the Walmart store. But try inside a tornado it would suck a case of beer out of you. The guy on CNN thought the Hurricane party was fun too until it blew him out to sea. But if you hang in there Tom you may see some activity this year.

There is a saying it is so dry that the trees are fighting over a dog. Anyway I could only image the amount of trouble land surveyors go through to survey a track. Think about the problems facing linemen when they go through the same tracts to install power lines down. I go to church with both a Surveyor and a Supervisor for Southside Electric as Dominion Power does not have the rural areas.
