I am brand new and very geen to this vocation. I just got my tumbler and have my first assortment of rocks going now. I will have lots of questions in the future...so right up front...sorry if I become a pest.
Thanks for a great site Dwight Pilkilton

Well since you asked, I have a Thumlers Model B, It has been running with 60-90 grit for 3 days...teh rocks are looking neat, all rounded and smooth. The problem is I used too much grit...there is a layer of grit in the bottom of the tumbler with rocks imbedded in it..about 2 inches deep! Yikes
I removed the water and disloged the rocks....scooped out 1/2 of the grit and added my rock load back and filled up with water just over 1/2 way..only a few rock tips sticking out of the water..then turned it back on. It sounds like more is going on right now during the tumbling process. Just like all newbies...I can wait to get this first batch finished.
On another topic, I live in North Alabama, do you know of any listings for my part of the country..where to look....what we have here in the deep south ??
Questions, Questions...sorry to rant on like this.
Thanks Dwight P

I will be adding the alabama sites soon to the collection site page and will email you my findings...Your right I remember my first tumbling and how exciting it was for the first batch to finish. Whats so much fun about this hobby is I still can't wait for a batch to finish and still get just as excited I did the first time...
