First you need to learn how to spell amethyst. On your finding post at JXR, please modify the size to 6 inches so it can be seen. This will help all those that have dial up and takes a day just to load that big of a picture. Otherwise, the finds were fabulous. Keep up the good work. Ken

I know how to spell it I just like to switch the y and e around for fun because they sound the same. Thanks for the info Ken any help is appreciated. I keep my stones because I am a rock hound . These are my sisters which I gave her for her birthday. She said she would like money for them instead. Go figure!

Besides making the pictures smaller for posting you also need to put something in the photo like a quarter to show the size of the stone. If you are trying to show the clarity of the stone then take the picture with the stone back lit. It is best shown in two kinds of light. Sunlight and floresent. If you have a scale and can weigh the stone then the buyer will have a better idea on what they are getting. Remember that cut stones generally will lose 1/3 of the stone in the process of cutting.

On some stones you may lose ONLY 1/3, but I find it more common to end up with 1/3 of what you start with! I have been cutting for quite a few years and seldom end up with more than 1/2 of beginning weight. If I grind to a preform, then the 1/3 off that is pretty accurate. I've been cutting some of the JXR and it does come out great colors.
