Well now it is my turn to encourage members of this Board to consider trading with Genchaos. I sent him some fossils from Florida which he was kind enough to make special mention of over on the "General Messages" Board. Today a box arrived here with his trades to us. My husband and I felt like two little kids sitting in the middle of a candy shop in the middle of a toy store!!! As we unwrapped each of these precious specimens we discovered that Andrew also identified each piece as well as indicated the locale for each rock. Bob and I are so very new to this wonderful hobby and we are trying to learn as much as possible. Andrew gave us so much more than just rocks.
Most of the pieces will remain intact so visitors to our home can also see their beauty and enjoy them as we do. Because of Andrew's generosity we will also be able to cut slabs and cabs which we can share with our children and grandchild.
When I first saw this thread I wasn't sure if Andrew would consider fossils for rocks a fair trade. I also know his professed goal is to always send better than he receives. Between Andrew and I we have agreed one cannot really compare fossils and rocks. But I just want everyone who reads this post to know that Bob and I are convinced that Andrew did manage to keep to his goal. Bob and I received a box full of treasure today and we are so very grateful to Andrew. :-)

I would again like to offer my thanks to the latest round of traders. I can't believe this thread has already received over 850 hits. I believe that's a fairly decent number for this site. I will be trying to expand my variety of goodies over the next couple of months and will post more photos here, as well as in Latest Finds when I do. I invite any requests for minerals and crystals from this area. For example, someone asked me about amethyst. I do have a source for some decent stuff I found years ago. I haven't been back since, but because it's miles from any road I'm fairly confident it will be right where I left it (in my younger days I actually used to walk everywhere, whether I knew there was something to find or not). Hopefully, I will have photos of it to post within the next month.

I have to concur with ladybeabea as he sent me some fantastic trades. Certainly he is a asset to our club. We could not decide which mineral or rock was our favorite it is close to impossible. But I will say I rank his as being my favorites.

Ernie and I have also traded with Andrew and were so excited to sit down and open each well labeled specimen. We loved everything we got from him. Sometimes we can’t travel to every part of our beautiful country of our but Andrew sent us a lot of the beauty that makes Arizona the state that it is. The colors are like nothing I have ever seen and I can not wait till we get our next box. Yep I for one will have a continuing trade going with our new Arizona friend. Andrew Thanks!

Unfortunately, you, Becky, Joe, and Steve are still on my list. I've had a couple of busy months. I will do my best to get you guys some boxes this month. Digdug, yours is the most embarrassing because it's also the simplest to put together. Thanks for your patience everyone. Hopefully, it will be worth the wait.

I am one of the very lucky folks that has received a box of rock goodies from genchaos. Being new to rockhounding, I had no collection until now. I was amazed at the variety of specimens he sent me. It would indeed be a great thing if folks all over the country would exchange rocks to help develop collections from areas you can't collect yourself. Thanks Andy for the rocks and I hope that someday I can build on the collection you have helped me to start.

Hi Genchaos, Like many others I am interested in cabbing material. Thought it would not hurt to ask, if you are considering finished cabs towards trade for some of your rough. I completed a transaction for some Rhodonite with another member, 4corners. That turned out great. I now see how pleased everyone is with trading with you. Let me know if your interested. It might help to visit my site to get an idea of what I have available for trade. From what I see you have to offer, I would be interested in some of the crazy lace, malachite, linarite. I have not downloaded the program required to view your other items. I will try to get that done, and would likely be interested in anything that is cabbing material. PS.... I just went and looked through some back posts of yours for pics of other cabbing material. Maybe I missed them, but could not find any thing else. Any way.... If it turns out your interested in trading, feel free to suggest other rough material that you believe would be good for cabbing. Thank you...

First, I think I have caught up with nearly all of the first-time trades. I am still trying to keep up with my regulars who are deluging me with amazing specimens and material. Thanks to one and all. Secondly, I have been asked about lapidary by many of you, not just taogem, so I decided to post some updated pics of some things I have available. I have also posted a new set in Latest Finds with material I haven't pictured before. I tried to show cuts and rough. Enjoy. First, here are some samples of chrysocolla/malachite from the Rowley Mine. This stuff is rich with inclusions, and the rhyolite makes a nice contrast. This is some of the lace agate/chalcedony I bring back from near Superior. Here are some nice cuts of the linarite. As you can see from the top slab, this stuff can be a gamble. Sometimes you get good penetration, sometimes just a spider-web of color. Here is a cut of petrified wood. I have several varieties, most from northern Arizona near Holbrook and Joseph City. I figure it's something everyone has so I only included the one pic. Here is some more of the spotted serpentine. This has been my most popular item. I have a few different color tones, but I think it all looks good. For more pictures you can check out any of my posts in the last 3-4 pages of Latest Finds.

To everyone waiting for a box, I am sorry for the current delay. I lost some major business this month and things got tight suddenly. I will catch up with all of you as soon as things stabilize. Most of you are waiting for me to send the first box, but if you feel I owe you please let me know and we'll work something out.
For anyone new who was thinking about initiating a trade, please wait, but feel free to check out other members in different parts of the country. 4cornersrocks has been offering some interesting things from the west and I'm sure there are others who would love to see new things from your part of the world.
As I told George, if things don't improve I'll have to change this thread from "Trade" to "Sale". Thanks for your patience and understanding. Andy

Thanks lizziebird. Things are probably going to get a little worse before they get better, but I think I've got things back on track. I'll be sure to let you know when I start shipping again.

Hey genchaos, I have several flats of east coast minerals I use at shows and auctions. I'd be willing to trade for something nice from out west. I've got mica and amazonite from Amelia,Va., some Diamond Hill quartz, calcite from the mountains, some Virginia fossils, Kentucky fluorite, etc.
