We believe that most of them came from Nottoway County or Amelia. Nottoway has produced some nice arrowheads in the fields and the Nottowa Indian tribe as well as the Monocan Indians lived here. We have a friend that is Cheyenne who moved here and some arrowheads they dug from the Nottoway Falls area and we saw evidence of where someone had been digging. But one friend dug plenty of whole pieces and broken ones from out of his farmland. I am not sure who dug these but there is a place called Grapelawn in which the rocks in the area match up with the type the arrowheads are made from.

It is a shame that the plowing of the fields in my area has come to a stop... now they sod-plant, eliminating the need for plowing...
I told a guy today that I was born about 20 years too late to really get the good artifacts... I have seen some amazing collections though!

We have a collection on Ebay and varockman has the collection it is under goodwar on Ebay if you want to look at it Drew. I asked him if it did not sell there to put a picture on here. I know what you mean as we used to find a lot of arrowheads in Charlotte County, Virginia where I was born. My brother collected them from all over the world. But the site of my old homeplace we found a cannonball from the Revelutionary War. There were Indians all over that area near the Roanoke River.

what blows my mind is....of all the collecting or just hiking I've done around NC, I have yet to find a single arrowhead! even at chatuge...of course I havn't ever set out on a trip with the goal being to find an arrowhead. I know there are a bunch of places around me known for artifacts, namely, Valle Crucis, but most , if not all of it, is private land.
