I received a rock from a friend as a gift that I am seeking assistance identifying what it is. She said she found it herself on a hiking trip in NY state. It is approximately 11 lbs, shiny silver in color, very hard material, does not react to heat, my husband literally held a torch on it and it was still cold to th we touch. It is not magnetic, it melts an ice cube in less than 40 seconds, we did cut a small piece off it with a dremel and it's appearance, color and texture are consistent inside and outside. We attempted to scratch test it but couldn't scratch it with anything even using mild force.
