I happened across a couple decent quartz spots this year that seem to be my own secret spots. There are tons a crystals and no evidence of anyone else digging or breaking them out of the seams.
When I first started there I would just pick them off the ground. Now I've moved on to digging and breaking them out of the hard rock. Some veins are super easy to break apart, but sometimes the host rock is incredibly hard with only a few fractures that are nearly impossible to break with my chisel.
I'm looking into expanding my tool box and was wondering about using a manual plug drill bit and a set of wedges and shims. I don't know anything about this yet though and was wondering if someone can recommend a decent supplier of these tools.
I would go up there and take some pictures to show y'all because I deleted the ones I've taken in the past, but the snow has come now and I won't be able to go up there until next spring or early summer next year.
