I cracked open a large grey and black stone with strips of white throughout and this chunk with a nice formation came out. It was found by Ghost Lake reservoir near Banff Alberta, Canada. It can be scraped slightly with just a finger nail.

Talc is soft enough to scratch with your finger nail.

The fractures in the white area looks like calcite.
