Heya all, I recently inherited a large collection - almost entirely consisting of different variations of agates and Blue Forest WY petrified wood specimens - and I am in dire need of identification help! I have spent a lot of time reading about different types of agates and how they form etc. but I feel that I am hardly getting anywhere, as my knowledge is EXTREMELY limited ! Here is a link to the Imgur album containing many photo's of the collection. If you have any knowledge about any of the rocks you see, please share with me; it will be thoroughly appreciated! Thanks again, -Nik This is just the agates --> imgur.com/gallery/UAmJYAnd nearly the whole collection --> imgur.com/a/ohX8s

It looks like there may be a couple of thunder eggs in the agate collection.

Nice looking collection. Do you have any interest in selling individual specimens or any at all? If you have interest go ahead and send me a PM. Thanks, Dan

It would be easier to help you if the photos or pieces were numbered. Amoungst them are 2 or 3 Botswanna Agates, from Africa (small dark, tight lines). Then there appears to be several Dry Head Agates mostly dark exteriors with orange fortification lines and random patterns. AA few Brazilian agates are also in there as well. The ones with darker wood centers, surrounded by the blue appear to be limb casts and the blue should be common blue opal and I would expect it to be from Oregon. There are some real stunners in that wood batch.

The limb casts with the blue margins are not from Oregon, they are clearly from the Blue Forest in Wyoming.
