I received these two specimens from a geologist when I was a kid like 25+ years ago. I just took them out of their boxes and im really curious to figure out exactly what they are. I'm sure they're probably fairly common, but I don't even know where to start. Figured I would try these forums first and if I don't have any luck, maybe I'll default to a university geology department. Maybe they will know. Someone out there on the net must know though. Thanks for the help. Maybe some sort of calcium is my best guess. Attachments:

Hello, it looks like Chalcodony with quartz crystals on it. At any rate I know its a quartz based mineral from the feldspar family of minerals. That is my best guess hope it helped
