New from Virginia.. Intro and question

Hello All My name is Rick, I currently live in Virginia, I am new to prospecting although it has always been something Ive wanted to do ever since I was a child.. Does anyone know of any local groups, clubs, associations here in virginia? was thinking of joining GPAA but Im not so sure.. can anyone offer suggestions? Im eager to get started but cannnot figure whyere to start. Here in Virginia Im told most everywhere is owned and is difficult for the public to be in the hobby/life of prospecting.

I don't know where in Virginia you live but there was a club in Richmond.
