Greetings and so glad to have landed on the dirty rockhounds site. We all have been looking at rocks from within Mom's womb....but I didn't start bringing them all home to roost until my kids both went west (SLC, Utah, and Tucson, AZ) about 8 years ago....Great places to start shipping back those USPS flat rate boxes filled with Galena...After easy pickings in SW deserts, have come back to New England swinging a sledgehammer and doing much harder work for my samples....I walk my shepherd daily for miles just for the rocks and we go home when all my pockets are bulging and I'm in danger of pants falling to the ground. A newbie in that now I don't just slab and cab, but identify (or try to) my treasure and seem to be moving toward micromounting. We'll see...Meanwhile, trying to figure out what to do with the untouched 1500 lbs of rock in my basement and backyard.
