Mason Ruby and Sapphire mine. Not to be confused with Mason Mountain.

I brought my family to Cherokee mine on the 21st, 62 buckets and 15 small garnets with some rutlie. On the 22 to shefield mine with 8 native buckets 75 cts of small garnets,2 rubies and some rutile. We stayed at comfort inn and had to move, black mold and unhealthy pool, kids unhappy, mom unhappy with dad getting both barrels! I love the area.

Digger, The Cherokee mine is the only mine that you will find native Cowee Valley rubies. It's also one of the few mines that you will find facet grade stones. I have found many there, but the best is the people that run/own the mine, the Montoya's. You'll never find better people anywhere. Bill
