Those are some seriously lovely and monster looking drusy! Where are they from? I have some interest in druse as I have a local spot to me (Mountain View, NC, south side of Hickory) that I want to get back to and try for a large intact piece. Most so far have fractured up, soft ball or smaller

Many of them are from volcanic vugs in Missouri. The first one is a specific mineral specimen, but I can't remember what off the top of my head.

The agatized sections are very nice! Had a chance to dig some druze in MO last spring. I plan to go back to MO again this spring. LOt's of fun and easy collecting.

Hey All. Enjoying the druze report. Are those all natural colors, or are they lit? I really like to study the various forms, such as the petrified berry look, the agatized substrates, etc. But after a while I begin to wonder just what size is each rock. My personal collection contains all sizes from one inch to as big as I can tote or drag. Shine on.

Heres a happy little dude, its a quartz cluster with a second generation of very fine druze all over it. The shop I got it from called it "sugar quartz" and it is from Mexico. I dont know what it is about the druzy covering that made me HAVE to have this guy. Its one of my favorites.

On my piece, I found it in the older dump pile across from Rick's tent. About 4 crystal faces were showing. When I brushed it off, I found more. When I hosed it off, I almost fainted.

Ya Gsellis, that's the reaction I would've had. That sucker is a real aircraft carrier! I had a crusty hunk of nothing I broght home, and when the mud cracked off, it had a coating of awesome all over it.
