Scott:
More information please. Was this specimen found in Germany, what is it's size, and is it a complete crystal? Neat to look at.

Thanks Pete. The link Pete gave ( www.quartzpage.de/gwindel.html ) will be the best explanation of a gwindel on the internet. The website creator Amir knows his quartz. In fact his website is the whole reason I was able to understand what was going on in Wake County with the alpine-type fissures ( www.quartzpage.de/atf.html ) If you have any questions about quartz you'll find the answers on the "quartzpage". The demensions of my gwindel is 3.8cm x 2.4cm x 3.3cm. A small one. But if I were to have purchased a larger one I would have to fork out several hundreds of dollars and even into the thousands. They are very rare and sought after. None have ever been found on our North American continent. My gwindel was found in Furka, Uri, Switzerland. Scott
