HI all at Dirty Rockhound. I am finally out of my sling and ready to go hunting. I really can,t do much rockhounding but I do still have a left arm that works fine. I will be going up to Virginia to try out my left hand rockhounding. Hope to be able to get some specimens. When out today and found a few small Limonite psuedomorphs after Pyrite here in Charlotte. I have had time to get my building in some kind of order. Clean a lot of material that has been sitting around. Hope to get up with Rick soon to do some rockhound. I like to go to Little Pine in the near future. I still have about four months of therapy before I will be able to really get out and do some real damage. I will be going in a couple of weeks to Seattle Washington and will be meeting up with Basketweaverz. We are going on a one day trip to collect. I can't wait to go and to meet basketweaverz and husbund. Will take pictures of the area and what we find collecting. Rick when ever you want to come down here to take pictures let me know and may we can go do a little rockhunt at the same time. ;D Riviera

We are looking forward to your trip!!! Please go to Stonetrails.com and click on Washington sites. We are thinking about taking you to Racehorse Creek and Blanchard Hill. Eocene fossils at Racehorse and a world reknown site for stilpnomelane at Blanchard Hill. Also you will need your camera at Blanchard if it is clear. Mt. Baker and the Sisters to your right and the entire San Juan Islands laid out to your left. For us rockhounds, the Sisters are a pluton of olivine. There is a mine for olivine but it is in a location that is not visible so it doesn't detract from the Sisters framing Mt. Baker.
If any other locations call your name, let me know. As you will see, that site is no longer updated and I know the Whiskey Dick and Amber sites have been closed. Whiskey Dick has some endangered sage grouse there and Dept. of Wildlife closed the area. The amber site was closed by the State Dept. of Natural Resources. Let me know of any that you are interested in. If you like talc or like to carve, we have lovely talc upriver from our house. I can send you some jade but to go get it will have to wait until you can use both arms, it really takes a lot of whaling on the rocks with a big sledge hammer.
Well, gotta get back to work. See you soon. Basket
