I picked up this cool little piece of quartz at a local rock shop. It isn't great quality, but I just liked it. I would like to know if there is any way to drill or notch the crystal so I could wrap it with hemp cord or something and make a pendant for my girlfriend. I know most people use wire, but I'd rather use hemp because I know how to work with it already. I have attached two pics of the crystal, with a penny in the view for relative size. There are black spots where I plan to drill a hole. Thanks for any advice, Drew

8-)I drill holes in my rocks with my dremel tool and a carbide tipped burr. It seems to work fine for me. ;D

;D ;D I usually build a little wax dike around the spot to be drilled and fill it with light uil. I use a diamond bit in a fles shaft or Dremel type tool in a press and go at it slowly mocing the bit in & out to keep it cool. I can usually get 2 or more stones from the cheap bits. The pros use am ultra-sonic drill to punch holes, but they cost thosands.
