I am trying to plan a rockhounding trip, problem is I don't where to start. We live in Florida and I would like to combine it with other interesting things to do. What sites can you recommen that are close to each other (within say 2 hours) ? I was thinking maybe Georgia/Tennessee area. Any help would be appreciated.

;DWhat part of Florida do you live in? You wouldn't believe the trip I just took from Tallahasse to Asheville and all around the areas. I left Tally on Thurs. morning at 6 a.m. in the rain I arrived in Hiawassee Ga. on Lake Chatuge just as it was getting dark. I didn't drive straight through I took a back roads scenic route to see the sites. I have a Ga. site book and I have Ricks book which allowed me to wind my way around and hit good places to look and take a break. I can tell you of some really great motels that are excellent in price size and scenic as well as located near sites to hunt. I will maybe do a complete detail report on the web site soon. But you can ask me any question that you want and I will try to help you. Pat
