Hey all, Finally got around to taking pictures of my finds from my trip (at least the one's I've cleaned so far). Even spent a whole two hours creating a new account and personal web site at comcast.net (isn't Frontpage great?). Here's a preview of one: Check out all the pics at home.comcast.net/~gronkus/photo.htmI hope to post more "personal" pics once I get them resized Best to All... Dave

Dave,
I enjoyed looking at the posted photos on your website. You came home with some lovely things, especially the smoky quartz cluster from Diamond Hill. (I just love DH!).
I'll check back when you've had time to clean and post more...

Dave it was good meeting you and Matt and you both immediately 'fit in" with our little band of gypsies. Come on down whenever time allows or find us some places to dig up there and we'll all climb on the magic bus...

Dave, those are some great representative NC specimens! The kyanite is great... I don't see any Crabtree stuff? Are you the Dave (so many in the group) that found the fluorite at the Crabtree?

Drew, I wish I found some fluorite at Crabtree, but it was a different Dave :-) I showed three small emerald crystals I found there, but have yet to really clean all the rocks from Crabtree and take a picture of just those items. What I found was not overly impressive, and truth be told, I found more "emerald" chips in the gravel of the parking lots to the big site-seeing emerald mine that is near there than I did at the mine itself. Kind of bummed me out to see that, but it was a neat experience nonetheless to visit Crabtree and listen to that darned bullfrog chirping all day!!

Dave... it was fortunate that you got to get into Crabtree... I stopped by there this past weekend and was told it was No Trespassing, $50 a day...

Rick, I was up at the Redmond and was told that I was tresspassing. The man said he talked to you about the mine being on priavte property not fed land. Is this another site someone can be arrested at? I didn't get to go into the mine, but I want to get back there. Although I don't want to meet the law there either. Any info would be great.
Thanks, Keith

Rick,
This guy lives at the end of the road and was walking his dog the day I was there. I guess he was upset about people coming down the road he lives on. I won't let his comments detour me from visiting soon. I totally trust you on keeping us updated on the sites. Thanks for setting this straight. I guess there are people who want to discourage collectors from some sites.
