Southern New Mexico rockhounding couple

My wife and I have been rockhounding together since we took a vacation to Maine and spent 4 days in the Poland area collecting tourmaline and garnets(nothing great but lots of fun). Since then we's spent many weekends hunting in New Mexico. Our favorite areas are Silver City, Orogrande, Socorro, and Corona. My wife likes anything crystalline and shiny, but as a geologist I also love fossil collecting. I tumble a lot of local petrified wood and agates, but she likes to keep her finds in their natural condition.
