Hello,
New to the forum, hope it's okay to post items for sale before reaching a specific post count.
I have access to literally TONS of raw obsidian via access to it on my parents ranch. This weekend my wife and I went scouting to see what was there and we brought home 30 pounds of the stuff - picked up mostly because it caught our eye, or we were impressed by it for some other reason. What we have varies widely in terms of color and size. Some of it is the size of an Idaho potato, while other bits are the size of a deck of playing cards; colors are all dark, but vary from solid black to lighter with brown streaks running through it. We found pieces that look like they have been 'tooled' or carved on, based upon their shape. Out of all this, we found 1 arrowhead! That's what we originally went looking for!
Anyway, I am wondering if anyone would be interested in buying it?
I have no idea how to value it, or how to accurately describe it. I am happy to provide pictures - just not sure how to do that quite yet!
Please advise!
Thank you,
Jim

Hi Jim! What's your 20? I'm in CA, and always looking for new obsidian. I've been knapping for 20 years and like to add new source samples to my collection. I like to reproduce known artifacts from specific regions with the correct stone. I've collected from about 10 sources so far, and only interested in legal collecting on government and private land. Thanks! Toolstone Sacramento, CA
