Lately my husband and I have been hounding the Superior region of Arizona for our chuckles and personal piles with some really neat finds. We followed a friend's advice and found a nifty old mining road that appears to literally have been paved with tailings that have yielded several types of Jasper, Culperite, Agates, Pyrite, Apache Tears and more. (pictures of some of the unidentifiable pieces will be posted as we go through and clean them up).
We're willing to trade info for info as we're a little ticked off after publicly posting a location only to go back and find it covered in graffiti and dug to heck. Really sad and disappointing so... Now we only talk with people who we know are willing to conserve these areas and follow the "rules of the rocks" so to speak (IE: using common sense and being responsible)
We go out every week and are more than happy to meet up with new people as we're relatively new to Arizona having relocated from Missouri. Obviously, yesterday's snow will likely keep us from hounding this weekend.

Do you belong to the local rock club?

Kyohte - are you out with a local rock club like Leonardo asked? I doubt anyone learned of the location because you published it on dirtyrockhounds. Bored local kids know every mining road in Arizona. I am trying to get my wife out for some rockhounding up near Tucson. I have not gone out in the Globe area. Sounds like a nice area. Have you checked out any Rockhounding AZ books? All the old mines are listed with locations and if they are open to hounding - in addition all the BLM areas.

I agree. The local indians will paint and litter the place up until there is no more room for more paint or trash.
Rockhounds generally don't do this type of crap.
Any way, what are you looking for. I have been to the majority of the spots in the Bearce book and know which ones are trash spots.
I don't come here often because this site is such a dud, but I will eventually see and reply.

Don't bother with this kyohte person...she is a waste of time. Tells you she will help you with info, then wastes your time.
