The one on the left was a piece of what looked like red jasper/banded iron from my driveway, but a very cool grey showed itself as I sanded down. The one the right was a blob of black quartz that was hiding some lighter areas and gold colored inclusions. Middle one was an end piece, pic doesnt quite do it justice...dendric angelite? Still some scuff marks, but beginning to get the hang of it and waiting on a tumbler. Lovin' the B-12! Attachments:

Not a bad job at all, what grit are you up to? A s far as a tumbler go I would only use a vibartor, you dont want to chip your well formed edges. you are on a great roll! love to see the end pieces.

Thank you Joanne! I forgot to mention that the middle stone was covered in white, and I started to remove the rough, all these beautiful shades of blue began to appear. The tumbler I ordered is indeed a vibratory Raytech5, for the reason you said and also for its speed...I would never be able to wait a month for the finished piece. Waiting for the damn thing to come is another story. The Highland Park came with two grinding wheels, a belt sander, a buff wheel and a flat sander. The wheels are in great shape, the belt sander needs replacing but still smooths some of the sharper corners, and the flat sander isn't hooked up. So to answer your question, I'm not sure what grit I'm up to. Jumped the gun on buffing (with baking soda, heh), but just wanted a sneak peak to see how they looked polished. More to come, undoubtedly
